I decided to start this foundation because I wanted to help people affected by sexual and domestic violence. As time went on and I started talking to more people about what I was doing I realized that so many victims of these crimes have committed or considered suicide, this made want to reach even further to help others.

As a survivor of childhood sexual assault I struggled with finding my voice, this struggle followed me into adulthood. So many times I couldn't truly express vocally how I was feeling to people because I simply didn't know how too, over time I found comfort in writing so I turned to journaling.

As a young woman found myself in a similar situation one Saturday evening shift where I didn't know how to vocalize an unwanted physical situation with a co-worker, what happened next changed my life forever. Unbeknownst to me, one of my mentors Scott had told his friend and our boss Rich what had happened. I was then asked to speak with Rich and at that moment I realized that even though I couldn't find my voice that there are people who care enough to be my voice for me. These two men gave me more than a voice, they gave me hope and in time a purpose.

I wanted to find a way to give back in someway. . . I wanted to be a voice for someone who couldn't speak. I though to share how I had found comfort  in some of my hardest times, so I decided to start a journal donation charity.

The goal of the Talie Marie Foundation is to collect blank journals and included a small note of inspiration in the opening cover page to whomever the recipient may be. Please know that all journals will be checked for sensitivity reasons before going to any crisis centers or journal requestee.

I will personally sign all of all those that pass my sensitivity check and each journal will have a seal of approval on the inseam.

These journals don't just help victims but those around victims such as family, friends, or crisis center volunteers. These journals are for anyone whom may be affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and suicide.
